The welcoming office of Milford Helicopters

Arrive at Milford Sound Airport

You will go to Milford Sound Airport [104 Milford Sound Highway] 15 minutes before your flight is scheduled.

Pre-flight orientation & safety briefing

You will complete information forms as needed. Then relax and enjoy the stunning view while your pilot readies the aircraft. Before leaving to board the helicopter, you undergo your safety briefing.

Pre-takeoff

Time to get in the heli! Your pilot and ground crew ensures that you are comfortable, buckled in with your headset on and ready to go.

Lift off

The helicopter takes off and you’re airborne. Take in the sights of majestic Milford Sound as your pilot weaves through the mountains, telling stories and history as you fly, heading towards Sutherland Falls.

Remote landing

Your pilot chooses a location to land. The pilot opens the helicopter door, inviting you to step out onto the stunning terrain above the Sutherland Falls. Remember to seize the moment and take some photos!

Back to the helicopter

Loaded back into the helicopter, you take off again, getting another view of the Sound as you head back to the Milford Sound Airport.

After you return to Milford Sound Airport, there is a 20 minute nature walk to the ferry terminal. You will need to arrive 15 minutes before your cruise is scheduled, to pick up your boarding pass.
